Standhill Farm, Armadale: surfacing works to a roundabout.
The job
We carried out surfacing works to the roundabout at Standhill Farm in Armadale.
About the area
Armadale is a West Lothian town about 20 miles from Edinburgh, west of Bathgate and east of Blackridge, in the West Lothian Council area. Standhill Farm is on the western edge of the town, about 27 miles by road from our yard at Bilston Glen, Loanhead.
Nearby work
Close by, we’ve also worked at Dean Plant Yard and Tesco’s distribution centre, with our Hapas joint repairs across West Lothian a little further east.
What this kind of job involves
A roundabout takes turning and braking forces from heavy vehicles that a straight road doesn’t, so the surface needs good grip and a firm base around the circulating lane. Work is usually programmed for quiet periods or run under temporary signals, with give-way lines and markings put back before the junction is fully reopened.
