Co-op, Newtongrange: a car park refresh.
The job
We refreshed the car park at the Co-op in Newtongrange, near Dalkeith.
About the area
Newtongrange is a village in Midlothian, in the Midlothian Council area, on the A7 between Dalkeith and Gorebridge, with about 5,300 residents. The store is on Main Street, about 5 miles by road from our yard at Bilston Glen, Loanhead.
Nearby work
Close to Newtongrange, we’ve also worked on Gorebridge Toll, the A7 at the Sun Inn, Mayfield Community Campus and the St Davids walking route.
What this kind of job involves
A supermarket car park is only useful if shoppers can still use it, so a refresh is usually done in stages, often outside the busiest trading hours, with bays closed in blocks. Worn areas are planed or patched, then fresh markings restore bay lines, disabled spaces and walkways. Wherever possible, each section is handed back the same day.
