Beveridge Square, Livingston: tarmacadam surfacing to a car park.

The job

We laid new tarmacadam to the car park at Beveridge Square in Livingston.

About the area

Beveridge Square is in Dedridge, one of Livingston’s inner residential districts, in the West Lothian Council area. Livingston is West Lothian’s largest town, lying between the M8 to the north and the A71 to the south, roughly 15 miles from Edinburgh. Beveridge Square is about 19 miles by road from our yard at Bilston Glen, Loanhead.

Nearby work

Close by, we’ve also worked on our Hapas joint repairs across West Lothian, the A899 Houston Interchange, East Calder Primary School and Tesco’s distribution centre.

What this kind of job involves

A residential car park is used constantly, so surfacing is usually done in sections that keep some spaces open. A good job starts below the surface: failed patches are cut out, the base is made good and falls are set so water runs to the gullies rather than lying on the tarmac. Fresh bay markings go on once the new surface is ready.
