St Columbas, Kilmacolm: ramp installation.
The job
Ramp installation at St Columbas. A ramp has to suit the people who’ll use it, so levels, gradients and the way it meets the surrounding surface are set out before anything is laid. The base is built up in compacted layers, edges are held with kerbs, and the finished surface is chosen for grip. Where a site is in daily use, we keep the working area tight and a safe route open past it.
About the area
Kilmacolm is a village in Inverclyde, on the northern slope of the Gryffe Valley, about 15 miles west of Glasgow. It has a population of around 4,000. By road the site is about 66 miles from our yard at Bilston Glen, Loanhead.
Nearby work
Inverarity Morton in Glasgow is the nearest of our project pages, about 13 miles away, with Asda Robroyston a little further on.
