Sainsbury’s Bishopton, Renfrewshire: car park surfacing.
The job
Car park surfacing at Sainsbury’s Bishopton. The existing surface is planed to a set depth, swept and checked, and anything that has failed is dug out and rebuilt before new material goes down. Ironwork is lifted and reset to the finished level so gullies and covers sit flush. The new surface is laid hot and compacted, then marked out again. A store car park stays in use around the work, so we barrier the sections and hand them back one at a time.
About the area
Bishopton is a village in Renfrewshire, around 2 miles west of Erskine. Royal Ordnance Factory Bishopton, on the edge of the village, is being redeveloped as housing in a community called Dargavel. By road the site is about 61 miles from our yard at Bilston Glen, Loanhead.
Nearby work
Inverarity Morton in Glasgow is about ten miles away and Asda Robroyston a little further, the nearest of our project pages.
