The job
Lifting and relaying blocks in the car park at Aldi Alloa. Block paving fails where the bed beneath it has, so lifted blocks are set aside while the ground underneath is checked, corrected and compacted before they go back. Laid to the same pattern, the relaid area then has to sit flush with the surface around it. At a store car park we work in sections, so shoppers keep somewhere to park and a route to the door.
About the area
Alloa is a town in Clackmannanshire on the north bank of the Forth, south of the Ochil Hills, six miles east of Stirling and 13 miles west of Dunfermline. By road the site is about 39 miles from our yard at Bilston Glen, Loanhead.
